Do you export to my country?

We supply our trailers within Australia and New Zealand and for deliveries outside this area please refer to our overseas agents and UK office. Trailers supplied in Australia and New Zealand comply with Australian Design Regulation and the Australian Motor Vehicles Standards Act 1989. It would be your responsibility to ensure that the equipment is operated in accordance with your local regulations.

What is the delivery time of my trailer?

We aim to deliver your trailer as soon as possible, within 7 - 10 days of you ordering, however this depends on stock levels and suppliers. See  our competitive rates for delivery to all Capital Cities and regional areas.  Please contact us for a quote to provide delivery outside metro and regional areas.

Can the trailer carry my bike?

See ‘Product, Trailer specifications’ for maximum weights and dimensions for carrying capacities. Remember that manufacturers weight figures are often 'dry' weights, so the weight of fuel, other fluids, panniers and any accessories must be added to determine the overall weight of the bike. If you're still not sure just contact us.

Can the trailer be loaded and operated by one person?

Our trailers are not specifically designed to be operated by a single person and we always recommend that you seek assistance when loading or unloading your bike. You can purchase a Loading System from us, which could allow you to secure the bike without assistance.

Is the trailer suitable for commercial use?

Some motorcycle dealers regularly use our trailers, but remember these trailers are designed primarily for light weight and compact dimensions for those who do not want a large, heavy, rigid trailer. They are not intended to replace rigid trailers in intensive commercial environments; a rigid trailer will almost certainly be more durable and therefore more suitable for heavy commercial use.

Can I use the trailer off road?

Yes, but the quoted load capacity of the trailer is based on it being used on reasonably maintained roads. Poor quality roads and dirt tracks can significantly increase the dynamic loads placed on the trailer, particularly at speed. When using the trailer off-road or on poor quality roads you must reduce your speed and/or reduce the trailer load. If in doubt contact us for advice.

What is the correct tyre pressure for my trailer?

The correct tyre pressure is dependant on the bike being transported and the trailer configuration. For details of tyre pressure please refer to instruction manual or call us for advice.

How do Motolug trailers compare in price and specification to wheel-less motorcycle carriers that carry a motorcycle on the tow bar of a vehicle?

While wheel-less carriers are an excellent solution in some circumstances it is important to understand their limitations before you use one.
Most car tow bars are rated at only 75kg maximum trailer nose weight, in this case a wheel-less carrier would have to weigh less than 75kg when fully loaded to be legal and safe. Most wheel-less carriers require spacers or adapters to be fitted to the tow bar and can only be fitted with type-approved towing equipment. Adapters, spacers and drop-plates should only be fitted if this is done in line with the manufacturers type-approved specification for the tow bar. Wheel-less carriers are designed to suit specific vehicles. If you want a wheel-less carrier we recommend you ask the supplier to confirm their products suitability for your towing vehicle, tow bar and the load you plan to carry.
