Trailer Assembly

To assemble a single trailer, first slot the axle into the side plates of the rear section of the folded trailer beam, lining up the centre hole on the axle with the hole through the main beam assembly.
Open the main beam and unfold the hitch arrangement. When the beam is unfolded it will clamp the axle in place, which can then be secured by a pin and R Clip. Next to fit are the wheel assemblies.
Slide the wheel assemblies into each side of the axle so that the pin holes line up, then secure with locking pins and R clips. Fit Lighting brackets and clip cable in place. This procedure takes little time, and no tools are required. Your trailer is now ready for connecting to your vehicle and loading your bike.
Important Note - Follow Motolug instructions provided with Trailer when assembling and dismantling the trailer.
Towing

•safe and legal for most cars
•no tow-bar modifications required
•low trailer 'nose weight
After ensuring the bike is firmly secured, connect safety cable to the tow bar and connect and check lighting before commencing on your way.
Always ensure the main locking pins are locked in place before using the trailer, check them regularly and replace any damaged pins.
Only tow the trailer with the hitch locked in the horizontal position, ensure both spring bolts are fully engaged in their holes and fit the pins & retaining clips when towing (see instructions).
When using the trailer off-road or on poorly maintained roads the dynamic loads on the trailer can be significantly increased, reduce
your speed and if necessary reduce the trailer load. Carrying trail bikes off-road is rarely a problem as they are usually much lighter than the trailer weight limit.
Important Note – Do not use your trailer unloaded.
Do not carry one bike whilst the trailer is in Twin configuration—ensure that it is always configured as a single trailer, any uneven weight distribution may cause instability or undue stresses on the trailer fabrication.
Bike Loading

Attach the trailer to the vehicle before loading your bike, and tilt the trailer to the ground using the pins on the hitch assembly. You can either push the bike up the ramp or walk the bike up whilst the engine is running. The trailers wide support channel is suited to a large range of tyre sizes, and its unique 'V' section ensures that any motorbike is always centered on the trailer. When the front wheel engages with the front wheel stop plate, cut the engine with the bike in gear to help prevent it from rolling back.
Holding the bike upright with the help of another person, attach ratchet straps or other suitable straps to the rear of the bike , one on each side, back to the holes provided on the trailer wheel assemblies, then attach two straps to the front of the bike. There are many different types of bikes so some experimentation will be required to find suitable fixing points for your bike.
We recommend that you have assistance when loading your bike, however if you purchase the Loading System, which attaches to the front of the main beam, it maybe possible to secure your bike without assistance. As your bike is pushed up the ramp, the front wheel passes over a pivoting cradle, which fits behind the front wheel supporting it together with a 'V' shaped cradle at the front of the wheel, enabling you to safely secure your bike. To release the hold when you are unloading your bike simply rock the bike over the pivoting cradle.
